Different points are awarded for participation in various areas of ATP. There is a monthly points award scheme for the most (genuinely) active members! Congrats once again to Alan Platt who is August's most active member, another Amazon voucher on its way Alan!
Expanding on the previous article on "starting out", I want to tell you a quick story! One thing I have learnt over the years and especially so with my photography business is to step out of my comfort zone once in a while. Read More »
Dunsfold Air Show & Brooklands Museum Cars. RAF, Army & Navy Aircraft displays, Stunts, Red Arrows, Vulcan Bomber, Spitfires, Hurricane's. Good trials for Lens's & Camera's
Stuff I shoot for no reason other than practice or if I see something abstract. I shall use this album to play with frequently. Any critique will obviously help, positive or negative. Only processed jpeg files get through.
I went to the beach yesterday to see what was happening as I am now walking without the aid of crutches at last and couldnt wait to get my hands on my camera again ...these are all practise shots to get used to holding that 70-200mm heavy lens again.
Taken before I had my 70-200 f2.8 lens , this is a record of a Fire Walking ceremony which lasted all day ...see my new post on the members forum for a description. Images are for interest value, not really of any great qaulity.

Dancers (WarrenRussell) total photos in album: 20 - last modified 15 days, 1 hours ago
Canon 450D kit lens 18-55mm shot at 1600ISO due to poor light and a high shutter speed for the movement. Please critique
Here are a few pics taken quite a while ago. They are of a part of our casino which is built round a Japanese theme, with very colourful buildings and water features. I thought members might be interested to see a part of a casino which is actually quite interesting because it is the last thing one expects to see when you hear the word "casino"!
After a recent knee operation I am still hobling around on crutches but because I was feeling really left out of things (cant lug a camera when you are on crutches!) I decided to put up a few of my old pics which members have not yet seen. Unfortunately they are all a bit soft as it was before I had my nice f2.8 lenses and also hand held because I didnt have my tripod with me that day .... but I thought the colours were nice so here they are!
Ten photos I plan to upload as my initial stock photo submissions. I welcome all feedback, especially from you Nick! As you can see, I love travel photography.
This was a day using a set of Ranger Quadra's and Speedlites to create different effects, all shots were during the day when the sun was at it's highest
30-foot sailboat, choppy water, most of the girls got seasick...although one guy was very very quiet, and didn't move around much...I was nauseous but managed to take advantage of the opportunity.
Asked to provide 20 shots I thought blimey! 20 out of 200,000? So I picked 20 I liked, actually more than 20 :) I will share them with anybody interested.

Sometimes I have a hard time finding shots in parades, and they seem rather boring. Plus it was really hot and we were in full sun until we couldn't stand it anymore and had to move into shade, behind trees and people. And I had my two kids by myself (my husband took off and didn't come back until after it was over), but I got a few interesting shots.
I thought I had missed the launch but they actually did it three days in a row. It was early in the morning and the lighting was a little dull before the sun came up.
I took Brian to my hair salon to take pictures like the guy at Salon Shooters was talking about. I talked to my regular stylist, and she said 'go ahead!' and "Good luck!". When I mailed off the package today, it had both the picture of my sister and Brian in it.

I saw this couple slowly walking down the street while holding hands and asked to take their picture.

I had been wanting to try out my 70-200mm f2.8 lens on some animals but during the recent soccer world cup, every game park in the country has been inundated with foreigners. Now that it is all over, our parks once more revert to normality so I decided to take a drive out to the nearest one called Seaview Lion Park, which is about thirty minutes from the city. These are some pics for members to enjoy.
strictly for practice toward stock...I am still trying to figure out how to get the lighting bright enough at my kitchen table...may have to do this at my sister's where there is more natural light.
