Different points are awarded for participation in various areas of ATP. There is a monthly points award scheme for the most (genuinely) active members! Big congrats to Lorna who is this months most active member which is amazing since she had a nasty bump to the head. Well done Lorna, Amazon voucher on its way!
Expanding on the previous article on "starting out", I want to tell you a quick story! One thing I have learnt over the years and especially so with my photography business is to step out of my comfort zone once in a while. Read More »
30-foot sailboat, choppy water, most of the girls got seasick...although one guy was very very quiet, and didn't move around much...I was nauseous but managed to take advantage of the opportunity.
Asked to provide 20 shots I thought blimey! 20 out of 200,000? So I picked 20 I liked, actually more than 20 :) I will share them with anybody interested.
Fantastic trip to London actually walked to Tower Bridge from Waterloo and back plus a 2 hour boat trip from Westminster to the Thames Flood Barriers 606 shots. Heres a few HDR's
Sometimes I have a hard time finding shots in parades, and they seem rather boring. Plus it was really hot and we were in full sun until we couldn't stand it anymore and had to move into shade, behind trees and people. And I had my two kids by myself (my husband took off and didn't come back until after it was over), but I got a few interesting shots.
I thought I had missed the launch but they actually did it three days in a row. It was early in the morning and the lighting was a little dull before the sun came up.
A little belated, but it took me a while to find the time to edit through all of them. Does anyone have any advice about photographing fireworks? It seemed my camera had a hard time focusing since there wasn't something to focus on until the fireworks went off. I had a slightly wobbly tripod and experimented with shutter speeds up to 1 second.
I took Brian to my hair salon to take pictures like the guy at Salon Shooters was talking about. I talked to my regular stylist, and she said 'go ahead!' and "Good luck!". When I mailed off the package today, it had both the picture of my sister and Brian in it.

I had been wanting to try out my 70-200mm f2.8 lens on some animals but during the recent soccer world cup, every game park in the country has been inundated with foreigners. Now that it is all over, our parks once more revert to normality so I decided to take a drive out to the nearest one called Seaview Lion Park, which is about thirty minutes from the city. These are some pics for members to enjoy.
strictly for practice toward stock...I am still trying to figure out how to get the lighting bright enough at my kitchen table...may have to do this at my sister's where there is more natural light.
On a recent trip to Turkey I was asked to shoot an image for a Tattoo Artist friend of mine so he could use for a business card - I got carried away and my wife had some more artwork done
I decided to shoot this whole wedding day in natural light (well, 99% of it). I lost some shots because of it and some of my ceremony shots had slow-ish shutters so were a little soft but overall I'm relatively happy...

Would love some feedback from you guys on this wedding album - I've kept it intentionally crisp and clean...
These are pretty sharp, but they're not big enough...they're about half the size they should be for submitting to Shutterstock. This is pretty frustrating.
Brian in the sun; attempting to follow Nick's direction - but I forgot to pull back the F-stops by a step or two. Will try again, but these are an improvement.
