I was able to sign up for a wedding workshop on March 27th. I am so excited. I have a wedding this Saturday, one the next Saturday and a workshop the following Saturday. Lots of traveling but I am so excited about the workshop. Lots of models will be there and I can really build my portfolio. Cool.
i wish they would do stuff like that here, if anyone knows where would be a good place to go in Calgary Canada plz let me know.
Well Lesley, I still have to travel 7 hours to get there, but it will be sooooo worth it!
WOW THATS QUITE THE WAYS U HAVE TO GO, MAYBE I WILL JUST HAVE TO LOOK IN TO IT A LITTLE MORE. ANYWAY IM SURE U WILL HAVE A BLAST.
I did some photo shoots this past weekend and the husband saw some of my pics and LOVED them soooo much that he wants me to come do a photo shoot for him at the studio. I feel like singing at the top of my lungs!!!!
Now, I really have to work even harder to be better.

I will Norbert. I just haven't had time to work on them because the kids are homeschooled and I don't want to work on it in front of them. I will try tonight and upload them then. : )

OK, I am soooooo excited! I get to do a boudoir shoot tomorrow, an engagement shoot AND a family portrait session! WOW!!! I just can't believe this!
Any suggestions for boudoir pics ?

I bought a SWEET Tri-Pod and head today. Last night I tried to take some pics out at the Marina - hand held. Not so good. I got one pic that I liked out of like 100. : (
So today, off I went and spent another bundle of $. I have a photoshoot this weekend though at the Marina and I just couldn't have them look like that.
I also found some really cool art grafitti walls in Eureka that I will go practice on this weekend. Thinking of taking my son up there to one that has all sorts of music stuff on it and take some pics of him with his violin in front of it. Can't wait.
I would even use more "heavy" words...but I am quite nice person...lol.

Hi Lisa I got a Manfrotto 190XB and a Manfrotto 804RC2 head. It ROCKS!!!
Today, I am going to really spend time on my flash photography. I bought a DVD called Understanding the Nikon Speedlight. I watched it then went out and took some pics. Now I think I am going to watch it again. Maybe I will understand it a bit more.
If anyone has any suggestions on how you place them, that would be a big help. I am really struggling with blowing out my pics with haze everywhere or a really bright pic behind them.
Maybe after I watch this again I will understand because when I first watched it, I had never even turned one on before.

That looks like lens flare...your flash is too close to the front of the lens and stray light is getting in. Do you use a lens hood? You may need to move the flash a bit more to the right...

I am so excited! I was asked today to be an "assistant" photographer in 2 weeks at Mt. Shasta resort in Northern California. It will be my first wedding but I have another wedding the following weekend in Los Angeles, CA as the main photographer. I was also asked to take some engagement photos this week for them.
This week I was also asked to do a maternity shot the last week of March and do their baby pics the following month. Also, I was asked to do a senior portrait and I booked another wedding this fall. I am so thankful for all of my friends getting my name out there.

So I was trying on some clothes last night and asked a lady for some advice. I said I wanted to wear it while I was shooting a wedding and she asked if I had a photography business. I told her I am just starting out and told her my name. She was like - "Oh, I have heard of that." But she was bitter. I was really shocked. I asked her how she has heard of me and she said that every photographer in Eureka knows all the new photographers around. I asked if she has a business and she said not yet. I just thought it was so rude that someone would treat me that way. Does anyone else have this problem? I guess I am just so nice and I lift everyone else up that I don't understand why you wouldn't be happy for someone starting a new venture.
I was and still do get very intimidated by other photographers mainly at wedding fairs but i decided to ignore and carry on with what i do as it works for me and i have very happy customers look after no1 first.
Don't let the bas***ds get you down! Don't let them curb your enthusiasm...
Be yourself at all times with a huge smile and you will be fine. Forget the other photographers around as if they didn't exist. Your attitude and personality will win through with the clients...karma!

people who make judgments and criticize others in a mean way or for self satisfaction 99% of the time are unhappy with them self and have no self esteem, so if they were being rude and mean then they are jealous of you and your shining personality, don't let them get to you people will either like you for u or wont and how needs the ones that don't.
